The relatives of the family that lost its five members as a result of an attack by armed men have linked the murders to the old enmity.
The incident happened Thursday night in Qaricha village of district Bagram when the armed attackers opened indiscriminate fire on the six-member family, leaving five of them dead including the father, mother, two sisters and a son.
The Police Chief of Parwan, Mohammad Zaman Mamozai, confirmed the incident, saying three men have been arrested in this connection.
Fahim, a teenager boy who is the only survivor of the family, said the attackers were like robbers who demanded money from his father.
“I was in the kitchen when two armed men came to our home and asked my father for money in a gun point,” Fahim said. “When my father replied that he has no money, then they shot him and then my mother and then my sisters and this way they killed every one.”
But the relatives of the slain family believe the attackers, who are known to them, have had old enmity with this family.
“We want the government to execute the murders,” the family’s relatives said. “We know them and they are currently in the police custody.”
One of the relatives of the family told TOLOnews reporter that the man who is now killed along with his wife and children was accused of killing a man in the past. According to the source, this attack could be retaliation to the past murder.
